I had the pleasure of attending a rewarding lunch gathering today alongside a distinguished group of leaders, including former President of Singapore, Ms. Halimah Yacob; former top civil servant, Mr. JY Pillay; Mr. Piyush Gupta, CEO of DBS Bank; Mr. Sherman Kwek, CEO of City Developments Limited (CDL); Mr. Daniel Teo, former President of the Real Estate Developers’ Association of Singapore (REDAS); and Mr. David Gerald, President & CEO of the Securities Investors Association (Singapore) (SIAS).

Our discussions spanned a range of topical issues, covering local and global developments. It was an enriching experience to exchange perspectives with such esteemed individuals, each bringing their wealth of experience and insights to the table. The dialogue touched on key trends shaping Singapore’s economic landscape, as well as broader global challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. The diversity of viewpoints made for a stimulating and thought-provoking conversation, reinforcing the importance of collaboration and forward-thinking leadership in today’s dynamic environment.

Thank you to Mr. Sherman Kwek for generously sponsoring the lunch gathering, and creating a warm and engaging atmosphere that encouraged meaningful dialogue. As the afternoon concluded, I also took the opportunity to extend my best wishes to Mr. Piyush Gupta on his upcoming retirement as CEO of DBS Bank. His remarkable contributions to the banking industry and Singapore’s financial sector have left an enduring legacy, and I wish him every success in his future endeavors.
