I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Ng Gim Choo, Founder and Chairwoman of the EtonHouse Community Fund (“ECF”), for hosting a truly delightful and memorable farewell lunch this afternoon. It was a special gesture that marked the end of my tenure on the Board of Directors, and I am deeply grateful for the warmth and generosity extended to me. The lunch not only celebrated the years of service we have shared but also reaffirmed the strong sense of community that ECF has always fostered. It has been an honor to work alongside such dedicated individuals, all united by the shared goal of uplifting and empowering underprivileged children and families through education.
Reflecting on my time with ECF, one of the most memorable activities that stands out is the Treasure Quest & Carnival held in September 2022. This event was particularly significant, as it was graced by Singapore’s Foreign Minister, Mr. Vivian Balakrishnan, whose presence underscored the importance of community support for social causes. The Treasure Quest & Carnival brought together families, children, and volunteers for a day filled with fun and purpose. It was a beautiful demonstration of how education and community engagement can intersect to create meaningful experiences for all involved. The joy on the children’s faces and the enthusiasm of the participants were testaments to the success of the event, and it is moments like these that make my decade of service truly rewarding.
As I step away from the Board, I carry with me many cherished memories and lessons learned from my time with ECF. The organization’s commitment to addressing educational inequalities and supporting vulnerable communities has left a lasting impact on me. I am proud to have contributed to its mission, and I look forward to seeing the continued growth and success of ECF in the years to come. While I may no longer serve in an official capacity, I remain a strong advocate for the incredible work that ECF does, and I am excited to stay connected with its future endeavors.
