I have been a proud participant in the Singapore President’s Challenge since its inception in 2000, during the tenure of President S.R. Nathan. Over the years, this initiative has grown into a national movement that brings together various segments of society to contribute towards charitable causes. Being involved in this meaningful endeavor for so many years has allowed me to witness the positive impact it has had on countless lives, and I am honored to continue supporting such a noble cause.

This evening, I am especially delighted to be invited to the beautiful Jurong Lake Gardens for a very special occasion. It is an honor to be on stage with President Tharman Shanmugaratnam as we celebrate the Lunar Mooncake Festival in conjunction with the President’s Challenge 2024. The vibrant atmosphere, filled with joy and festive spirit, is a reflection of the unity and generosity that the President’s Challenge fosters each year.

The combination of cultural celebration and community service makes tonight’s event even more memorable. As we gather under the glowing full moon to mark this traditional festival, we also reaffirm our commitment to supporting the less fortunate through the President’s Challenge. It is heartening to see so many people coming together, not just to enjoy the festivities but to contribute to a cause that transcends individual interests and benefits society as a whole.
